About Us

A fine example of an early Western Australia Police Station and lockup, built in 1880 and one of the earliest buildings in Bridgetown. The building is in an original condition with three cells, a booking room, kitchen and exercise yard, although a tin roof now covers the shingles. The museum focuses on early policing in Bridgetown, but also contains permanent displays about bush schools, the apple industry and agricultural equipment. Exhibitions are shown each year on contemporary subjects.
