About Us

The Dunalley Waterfront Cafe and Gallery is a contemporary gallery and eatery in Tasmania's South. Housed within an atmospheric 1942 timber building which was originally a fish cannery supplying overseas troops, the boutique restaurant highlights the best of regional produce, showcases local art and artists, and acts as a cellar door for the acclaimed local Bream Creek Vineyard. Tastings and sales of Bream Creek wines are available during opening hours. The gallery is situated in the restaurant and local jewellers' and sculptors' wares and regionally produced jams, preserves and gourmet products are available for purchase. The café overlooks the beautiful Blackman Bay which provides a thoroughfare for smaller boats from the East Coast Narrows through the Denison Canal to Hobart. The café was named the best in Tasmania in 2014. Dunalley is a 48-minute drive (56 km) from Hobart and the halfway mark to Port Arthur.
