PORT LINCOLN

With its magnificent harbour and plenty of fertile land, Port Lincoln was seriously considered as the capital of the new colony of South Australia. A lack of fresh water saw the idea scotched. These days it’s regarded as the capital of seafood and adventure tourism! The innovation of tuna farming was a world-first and it generated fabulous wealth in Port Lincoln. Port Lincoln is the only city in the world where it’s possible to get in the water with Great White sharks, Australian sea lions and dolphins – not all at once!
