WILLUNGA

Willunga is one of the state’s oldest towns and named after the Peramangk word ‘willangga’ meaning ‘place of green trees’. The beautiful village has a lively main street, with historic buildings brought to life through cafes, retail and local pubs. Regional produce is a specialty, served at local eateries as well as the famous Farmers Market. Each year, pictures of the town are broadcast across the world as part of the Tour Down Under cycling race, when the UCI World Tour riders tackle the epic Willunga Hill climb.
