La Pecora Nera (The Black Sheep) is a Traditional Italian Eatery (Woodoven Pizzeria & Osteria) located in the picturesque town of Burra in the mid-north of South Australia. Everything revolves around the magnificent wood-fired oven. Itʼs Italian food as it’s meant to be – fresh, vibrant & delicious – the closest you can get to dining out in Rome without travelling to Rome itself! Paolo decides daily what goes on the menu, which means what’s offered is fresh, in-season & sure to tempt. One night you might find La Porchetta (spice infused pork slow roasted in the woodoven), & the next it might be fresh pasta al’uovo (fresh egg pasta) or perhaps una bella cozzata (beautiful huge bowl of the freshest south australian mussels).
