Check-in

Due to security measures, passengers are advised to allow ample time to process through immigration and security screening points into the Departures area. Adelaide Airport recommends all passengers arrive early for check-in. Passengers are encouraged to check with their airline or travel agent regarding any questions relating to check-in procedures, timing, security measures or special needs with travel arrangements.

Passenger check-in facilities for most airlines are located on Level 2 of the terminal with the exception of some charter operators.

Upon arriving, proceed to the relevant check-in desk. For people using wheelchairs, selected check-in desks have been lowered to allow easier access. Airline staff will explain the process and location for transferring you to one of their custom wheelchairs, designed to fit the aisle of the aircraft.

Several check-in desks have a Counter Hearing System (CHS) installed. The CHS unit can be used by both people who wear hearing aids and those who have a hearing impairment but do not wear hearing aids.

Domestic Check-in Procedure

Passengers and persons intending to greet or farewell passengers are allowed access into the terminal past security, but only after submitting to the security screening process. Access to airside areas of the airport is prohibited, unless being escorted to or from an aircraft (as a passenger).

International Check-in Procedure

Non-passengers are not permitted to enter the Customs-controlled areas of Australian international terminals. In addition to submitting to security screening, international passengers must also comply with LAGs (Liquids Aerosol or Gels) inspection/screening and border processing prior to being allowed entry into these areas of the airport.
