BERRI

The town’s name is derived from the indigenous word ’bery bery’ meaning ‘bend in the river’ and was proclaimed in 1911. Berri has a lovely riverfront with plenty of area for picnics or playing sport; it also includes floating wharf platforms, lookouts, historic monuments and an indigenous bridge mural. You’ll find fresh produce is in abundance, especially at the Riverland Farmers’ Market held every Saturday morning from 7.30 to 11.30. Several fresh produce stalls can be found on the Sturt Highway just on the outskirts of the town.
