NURIOOTPA

With close to 5,600 residents, Nuriootpa is easily the biggest town in the Barossa, and one of the larger centres in South Australia. The town dates to around 1850, and Coulthard House, home of founder William Coulthard, still stands on the town’s main street. Other long-standing premises include Linke’s Bakery & Tearooms serving Barossa produce for generations, the 150-year-old Vine Inn and Wilhelm Schaedels Circa 1857 a collectibles store that is very much a step back in time. The town has always been a hub of Barossa wine production and is home to some of the most famous names in the industry, including Wolf Blass and Penfolds.
